When prompted, please click cmd to open the CMD program:

2. Connect to a FiregateCS's content filter

After CMD is opened, please type in the following text and press Enter:

C:\> netsh interface show interface

Please note the lines with state Enabled and their corresponding Interface Name (see yellow circles). Now, in that same CMD window, please type in two following commands, one after the other:

C:\> netsh interface ip set dns "Interface-Name" static IPv4
C:\> netsh interface ipv6 set dns "Interface-Name" static IPv6

Where Interface-Name is what you noted above (for example, Local Area Connection as in the above picture). IPv4 and IPv6 are the IP addresses version 4 and 6 of the content filter that you would like to connect this device to:

  • The HappyKids filter
    IPv4: 103.3.62.208
    IPv6: 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fed1:4f9
  • The PhishBlock filter
    IPv4: 45.118.135.5
    IPv6: 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fed1:c0dc
  • The AdFree filter
    IPv4: 172.105.122.209
    IPv6: 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fedd:15a8

As an example, to connect to the HappyKids filter:

C:\> netsh interface ip set dns "Local Area Connection" static 103.3.62.208
C:\> netsh interface ipv6 set dns "Local Area Connection" static 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fed1:4f9
4. Verification and done!

To visually check if you are protected by FiregateCS, please visit verify.firegatecs.com to see a message similar to the one in the screenshot below:

That is actually it! If you have more questions, please address to info@firegatecs.com. We are always happy to answer!

Technological remark: Due to how Web browsers work, you might have to restart your Web browser or clear its cache, so that unwanted Web content can be blocked immediately. For example, if you just (accidently) visited the pornography site www.pornhub.com, and you have configured Armor to use the HappyKids filter, FiregateCS might not block www.pornhub.com until after the browser has been restarted.
