Manual setup for Mac OS

1. Open Terminal

Click the Spotlight Search icon at the top-right corner of your MAC screen, (red-circled) like shown in the picture below:

Once the Spotlight Search is opened, please type in the text "terminal", then click the Terminal icon (red-circled) to open it, as in the picture below:

2. Connect to a FiregateCS's content filter

After Terminal is opened, please type in the following text and press Enter:

# networksetup -listallnetworkservices

You will see a result similar to in the picture below:

Please note the interface that currently connects your computer to the Internet. Usually, they are Wi-Fi for WLAN and and Thunderbolt Bridge for LAN cable. In most cases, your computer is using Wi-Fi for Internet connection. Now, please type in Terminal the two following commands, one after the other:

# networksetup -setdnsservers Wi-Fi IPv4
# networksetup -setdnsservers Wi-Fi IPv6

Here, we assume that your computer is connected to Internet via the Wi-Fi interface. And IPv4 and IPv6 are the IP addresses of the content filter that you would like to connect this device to:

  • The HappyKids filter
    IPv6: 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fed1:4f9
  • The PhishBlock filter
    IPv6: 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fed1:c0dc
  • The AdFree filter
    IPv6: 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fedd:15a8

As an example, to connect to the HappyKids filter:

# networksetup -setdnsservers Wi-Fi
# networksetup -setdnsservers Wi-Fi 2400:8901::f03c:92ff:fed1:4f9
4. Verification and done!

Technological remark: Due to how Web browsers work, please restart your Web browser or clear its cache, so that unwanted Web content can be blocked immediately. For example, if you just (accidently) visited the pornography site, and you have configured Armor to use the HappyKids filter, FiregateCS might not block until after the browser has been restarted.

To visually check if you are protected by FiregateCS, please visit to see a message similar to the one in the screenshot below:

That is actually it! If you have more questions, please address to We are always happy to answer!
